Photo: Maxine (Aloma Wright) returns to Salem University Hospital this August to tend to explosion victims. She joined the cast of ‘Days of Our Lives in 2008. The actress is best known for her work on the TV show ‘Scrubs’ and has had bit parts in ‘Private Practice’, ‘Parenthood’, and other primetime shows.

‘Love among the ruins’

ElJ is taken prisoner by madman Ian. The poilice find out about him and his misdeeds. Andrew is wheeled into the hospital. He keeps Gabi by his side and thretens her for betraying him. Melanie freaks out and runs away! Chad  happens to eavesdrop on the whole thing. He confronts Gabi and she confesses and breaks into tears. He decides to keep this quiet for Mel’s sake but advises Gabi to stay far away from him and his girlfriend. When she later runs into them at Jack’s memorial, Chad gives Gabi the cold shoulder and then kicks her out of his apartment.

Will’s old friend Tad is back in town. Apparently he didn’t take any anger management/tolerance  lessons because he is outraged that Will has come out of the closet! After he lashes out at Will for being a phony, Will mopes away to Sonny. The two men embrace and Sonny is overcome with emotion. He’s about to kiss Will, but Horton pulls away and insists that he doesn’t feel the same way. Sonny accuses him of acting like a closet case again so Will runs off to mope to Marlena. As he talks to Marlena, he realizes he actually does have more than friendly feelings for Sonny. Running out to find him, he discovers Sonny with another man. Frustrated, Will takes off and has a run-in with Tad  before bumping into. Lucas, who  makes things much worse by telling Will that he is a disappointment! Will mopes even more. This time he runs into Gabi and helps her move back into her old room over the pub. As William and Gabi have a ‘fling’, Tad accuses Sonny of making Will gay and  beats Sonny to a pulp outside! Justin finds his bloody son, who refuses to go to the police. Meanwhile, Will realizes he has used Gabi to settle his emotions. He runs away, straight into his father. They have another fight. Ian will depart Salem in a dramatic way and will never be seen again!

Nicole is desperate to tell Daniel that she has fallen for him, but Maggie interrupts and panics about Melanie. Later, Nicole tries to get back on track and starts dropping hints to the doctor about how great they are together. Rafe wants to keep tabs on Sami. Maggie goes looking for Mel, dreading the fact that she has to break the news that Nick Fallon is up for parole. Before she can tell her granddaughter, she is called to help Victor deal with a grieving Brady. Unfortunately, Julie winds up being the one to tell Melanie what’s going on and she doesn’t do much to cushion the blow to the traumatized young lady Melanie worries that Nick will come after her again!

Ian Buchannan’s last airdate is Wednesday, August 22nd. Evidently, it is he who shot Stefano.

Greg Vaughan was on set at the NBC Burbank lot  to begin shooting scenes as Eric Brady, which should air sometime in September.
